Online backup is invaluable but simply cannot protect your entire computer. Using the local backup system, you can backup your entire computer, open/locked and operating system files included to any local medium whether it is an external USB drive, a local network location, a USB stick or an IPod.

The system ensures complete privacy protection. Our solutions uses a three-tiered encryption system which encrypts data on the user’s computer again in transit and finally when at rest in storage. Users can also opt to use UltraSafeTM which means that the user’s account password is not stored in our systems. This means that not even the Our Engineers can view the data stored on the SOS servers. Only the user who put it there can ever access the data. This stands in contrast to most other online backup systems, where data is neither encrypted on your client, nor stored as encrypted data so as to prevent employees of the software vendor from accessing stored data. Even if someone were to get access to files shared on our grid, their contents would be impossible to retrieve.

Physical Media Upload
Chances are you have at least 20 to 30 GB of data to backup. Over the wire, that can literally take weeks. Our exclusive PMU technology lets you “seed” your backup by sending your encrypted data on a DVD. Alternatively we can send you a disk overnight and you can copy your backup to that disk. After that, just the 1’s and 0’s that change will be backed up, meaning your daily backup takes just minutes.
